User should know how to use this, where this should be used and what are the requirements needed to run the full version of Joomla and what are the other software needed to fully run this CMS.

You should have a web server and hosting account before you can run this software. So instead of purchasing a hosting account, you can actually run your web server though your computer by using a local host. You also need some software that caters APACHE, PHP Scripting Language and MYSQL to run the Joomla and its components. Examples of this software are XAMPP and WAMP. You have to fully run either of this two before installing your Joomla.

Installing Joomla on your WAMP server

»  Download the latest zip version of Joomla at joomla.org
»  Create a new folder called Joomla within the WWW folder of your WAMP server.
»  Extract all the files from the downloaded Joomla zip folder and insert them into the newly created Joomla folder within the WWW – WAMP folder or directory.

»  Edit the “Configuaration.PHP”-Dist file within the extracted Joomla and delete everything in this file and rename it Configuaration.PHP

»  Left click on your WAMP icon and click on the Localhost panel. Within the projects section you will see your Joomla folder and by just clicking on it this will bring up the Joomla installation.

»  Joomla installation steps (a) select language, click on English and then click next
(b) pre-installation check, just leave as it is and click next
(c) license, just click next
(d) database configuration
(e) FTP configuration, just leave as it is and click next.
(f) Main configuration, site name : can be any name that you want, — confirm email and password : use the email that you used to install the WAMP server and create an admin password for accessing your Joomla control panel.
(g) Load sample data, tick install sample data and click next. You have now successfully completed your installation.

»  The final step involves deleting the entire contents of the Joomla installation folder. Just navigate to the WWW directory or folder and open up the Joomla folder and delete its installation folder. That’s it, you are finished.

Joomla is very easy to install and does not entail major help. Once Joomla based website or web application is live and running, it is convenient to the end user to manage it on own. They can update content on their web portals built using Joomla with basic IT skills like Microsoft office services and Internet browser based services like Internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Joomla is available under GPL license. Joomla Development Framework provides an advantage of not making the application restricted particular closed application or organization.
